FISH HOEK ACCOMMODATION FINDER

This sea side village lies between Simonstown and Kalk Bay on the False Bay coast in the relatively warm waters of the Indian Ocean. The long, sandy beach is one of the safest in the Cape. On windy days it is great for wind surfing and Hobi Cat sailing. During the whale season, July to October, Southern Right whales come into the Fish Hoek bay to mate and give birth, sometimes within 50 metres of the shore!

Take a leisurely stroll along the Main Road in neighbouring Kalk Bay and browse through the many antique shops or breakfast at the excellent Olympia Cafe. On the other side of Fish Hoek is Simonstown where you can see the famous Penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

Don't forget to walk along the Jaeger Walk which takes you along the rocky coastline towards Simonstown.
For the very active climb up to Elsie's Peak and enjoy the most amazing views of False Bay.

Fish Hoek was, until recently, the only "dry town" in South Africa; the land on which the town was built was donated by Lord Charles Somerset in 1818 on the condition that their be no wine house on the property.
