While you’ll never tire of being catered to at fine restaurants during your stay in Cape Town holiday accommodation, you have to go home sometime. Take a taste of the city with you thanks to the interactive experiences at The Chef’s Studio.
What it’s All About?
This unique concept space is located at 103 Bree street, and is focussed on giving guests the lowdown on how on the intricacies of creating memorable, beautiful dishes. All the classes take place under the guidance of an accomplished chef and culminate in a multiple-course feast of your recently crafted creations.
The workstations are all custom built and feature the latest in cooking technology. There’s also a large table in-situ for sociable dining as well as a private dining room with views over the city.
Who’s Behind The Idea?
This brilliant concept was masterminded by Chef Matt Manning. Of English descent, Matt was schooled at some of the UK”s finest Michelin-starred restaurants. He was trained by some of the very best chefs around including Marcus Wareing, Bryn Williams and the infamous Gordon Ramsay before relocating to South Africa.
Upon arrival, he was snapped up by La Colombe where he worked for several years before setting out on his own as a private chef.
Before long, his interactive ‘One Ingredient’ pop-up dinners became the talk of the town, so he decided to make this hyper-social type of dining a permanent fixture in the city.
